Peter Obi And His Trojans Are Disgruntled, Confused” – Bola Tinubu’s Aide Fires Back
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has criticised supporters of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, accusing them of adopting a pessimistic view of national issues. According to Ireporter Online, the presidential aide made the remarks on Thursday via his post on X while reacting to a cartoon depicting him holding a glass of water and explaining the importance of context during a recent interview with Mehdi Hasan.
Bwala emphasised that context plays a crucial role in political and governance discussions, noting that individuals often interpret issues differently depending on their perspectives. He remarked that intellectual discourse requires an understanding of nuance, adding that situations can be seen as either “half full” or “half empty.”
The presidential aide further stated that those with progressive mindsets recognise that challenges are inherent in the process of development and should not be viewed in isolation. He maintained that progress is achieved through a process that inevitably involves difficulties, which must be understood within proper context.
In a pointed critique, Bwala described supporters of Obi, commonly referred to as Obidients, as having a predominantly negative outlook. He alleged that their perspective leads to feelings of disillusionment and confusion, contrasting it with what he described as a hopeful and optimistic approach embraced by progressives.
He concluded by asserting that a “half full” perspective reflects hope and positivity, while a “half empty” view represents pessimism, reiterating his stance that outlook significantly shapes interpretation of national issues.
