Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, has declared his readiness to confront federal contractors who oppose the use of concrete technology for road projects across the nation.

Umahi made this assertion during a meeting with contractors overseeing projects in the North-West region.

He criticized contractors who opt for asphalt technology, stating that it depletes government funds.

He emphasized that contractors unwilling to adopt concrete technology will not be awarded any projects by the ministry.

Umahi also lauded his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola, for his commendable work.

The minister also commended the contractor working on the Abuja-Kaduna Road project. However, he expressed concern about the slow pace of the work and the intricately technical design by the contractor.

Umahi advised contractors to provide reasonable cost estimates and consider breaking down projects into phases to facilitate smooth evaluation and progress monitoring.
