In a statement by his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki dismissed Akpabio’s claim that calls for an investigation were politically motivated efforts to remove him from office because he hails from the Niger Delta.

Saraki emphasized that his stance is not about partisanship but about upholding the integrity of the Senate. He urged Akpabio to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation, warning that introducing ethnic and political sentiments could undermine trust in the National Assembly.

The former Senate President stressed that allegations of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and abuse of office must be addressed with the seriousness they deserve. He reiterated that transparency and accountability are essential in handling such matters, cautioning against shielding powerful individuals from scrutiny.

Saraki urged Akpabio to focus on fostering a credible and impartial inquiry rather than diverting attention from the core issue.
