Sakinah Medical Outreach To Offer Free Surgeries – NIDCOM Calls For More Support

In a statement issued by NIDCOM spokesperson Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the initiative as a remarkable demonstration of the organization’s commitment to humanitarian service, driven by Islamic values of compassion and care.

Scheduled to run from February 16 to 21, 2025, at National Hospital, Abuja, the mission aims to benefit over 100 patients, offering specialized medical procedures such as:

  • Urethroplasty
  • TURP/TURBT
  • PCNL/RIRS (kidney stone surgery)
  • Laparoscopic urology
  • Diagnostic flexible cystoscopy
  • Lipoma removal
  • Circumcision
  • Hernia repairs

Over the past 16 years, Sakinah Medical Outreach has provided free medical care to more than 13,000 Nigerians within and outside the country.

NIDCOM encouraged other organizations and well-meaning individuals to support this noble cause.

Dr. Yusuf Salman, Chairman of Sakinah Medical Outreach, stated that the mission would include medical professionals from abroad, working alongside their Nigerian counterparts to deliver quality healthcare.

“We are driven by the belief that every human life is valuable and deserves access to quality healthcare,” Salman said.

He also expressed gratitude to Medics Across Continents (MAC) and National Hospital Abuja for their partnership in making the mission a reality.
