Security Forces Stop Bandits’ Attempted Attack In Gombe

According to Ireporter Online, the Gombe State Police Command successfully thwarted an attempted attack by suspected armed bandits on Guda Lamido Village in Kashere town, Akko Local Government Area.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 13, when a large group of armed men reportedly mobilized to invade the community. A distress call was received around 4:00 a.m., prompting a swift response from a joint security team comprising the Nigeria Police Force, local vigilante groups, and hunters.

DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the combined team confronted the attackers and successfully repelled them, forcing the bandits to flee into the surrounding forest. He confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident and that calm had been restored to the area.

“The team engaged the bandits and successfully repelled the attack, forcing the criminals to retreat,” Abdullahi said. “No lives were lost, and no injuries were sustained. Normalcy has returned, and the area remains peaceful.”

He further noted that patrols and surveillance around the community have been intensified to prevent further attacks and ensure the continued safety of residents. DSP Abdullahi urged local residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information that could help prevent crime.
