According to Ireporter Online, the death of Okomi, who was attached to Classic FM 97.3, was confirmed on Friday by News Central journalist Olawale Adigun via a post on his handle. Adigun expressed deep shock over the development, describing the news as heartbreaking and emotionally overwhelming, noting that Okomi held a significant place in his life and the wider journalism community.

The late broadcaster previously worked with Lagos Television, HiTV, and other notable media organisations in Nigeria. His final known post, made on April 14, 2026, read: “The Champions League is hard, man,” a message that has since drawn emotional reactions from colleagues and fans.
