Sh*ck Exit: Why Peter Obi Allegedly Turned His Back On Labour Party – Wike Spills
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised former presidential candidate Peter Obi over his reported move from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress.
According to Ireporter Online, Wike made the remarks on Sunday during the PDP 2026 National Convention, where he questioned Obi’s leadership capacity, particularly in handling internal party crises. The FCT Minister argued that leadership demands courage, firmness, and commitment, suggesting that Obi’s departure from the Labour Party during its period of internal challenges reflected an inability to manage difficult situations.
Wike further drew comparisons between Obi’s decision and that of some governors who recently left the Peoples Democratic Party, asserting that such actions demonstrate a lack of resilience and leadership qualities. He maintained that true leaders are defined by their ability to remain steadfast and provide direction in times of crisis, rather than abandoning their platforms when faced with challenges.
