She Wasn’t Responding – Uzochikwa Opens Up On Mercy Chinwo’s Pregnancy Collapse

According to Ireporter Online, the resident pastor of The Waterbrook Church, Blessed Uzochikwa, has recounted a distressing health incident involving his wife, gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, during her second pregnancy.

Speaking during a church service, Uzochikwa revealed that the incident occurred while Chinwo was expecting their second child, who was later delivered in 2025. He explained that she had left their bedroom for their son’s room when she suddenly began to feel unwell and subsequently collapsed.

He further stated that after the collapse, she became unresponsive, a situation that caused immediate panic within the household. In response to the emergency, he contacted gospel minister and pastor Nathaniel Bassey for urgent intervention.

According to him, Bassey requested a video call to assess her condition before arriving at their residence alongside members of the Hallelujah Challenge prayer team to offer prayers. Uzochikwa noted that Chinwo eventually regained consciousness following the prayers, adding that Bassey described the episode as a spiritual attack.

He was quoted as saying that Pastor Bassey has remained a significant support to his family, explaining that the intervention during the pregnancy was swift and impactful.

Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa were married in August 2022 and welcomed their first child, a son, in 2023. The couple later announced the birth of their second child in August 2025.
