Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has opened up about her personal struggles with celibacy and how it impacts her life and career in the Nigerian film industry.

According to reports from Ireporter Online, the actress—popularly known for her role in Jenifa’s Diary—shared her honest reflections in a recent Instagram post, admitting that maintaining sexual purity has not been an easy journey.

Olayode revealed that, despite her strong commitment to her faith, there are moments when she feels tempted to engage in sexual relationships but chooses restraint out of reverence for God. She noted that her decision to remain celibate often extends beyond her personal life, influencing her professional choices and the kind of roles she accepts in movies, particularly those involving romantic or intimate scenes.

The actress explained that living in a world filled with constant temptations makes it increasingly difficult to uphold moral standards, yet her devotion to God remains her source of strength.

In her post, she wrote: “Sometimes I just want sex; I want to get laid. When people talk to me about purity, I wonder if they think I don’t have blood flowing in my veins. It’s not that I don’t have desires or want to be touched, but more than anything, I love and honor God. I hate to hurt Him. Every day I have to make a choice, not just in my relationships but also in my career—whether to take certain roles or not.”

Olayode emphasized that her values, faith, and spiritual discipline continue to guide her through both personal and professional challenges, even when societal pressures and the realities of the entertainment industry seem overwhelming.
