SPORTAFCON 2025 Preliminary Round Draw Scheduled For Tuesday
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that it will conduct the preliminary round draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (SPORTAFCON) on Tuesday….READ ALSO
The draw is set to take place at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, with the event scheduled to commence at 2 pm local time.
In this preliminary round, the eight lowest-ranked teams based on the last FIFA ranking will participate.
These teams include Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia, and Eswatini. The matches will be played on a home and away basis between March 18 and March 26, 2024.
Following the preliminary round matches, the four winning teams will advance to join the 44 exempted teams for the group stage of the tournament. A total of 24 teams will eventually compete in the AFCON 2025 finals, which are slated to be hosted by Morocco.
The draw marks the beginning of the journey for these teams as they vie for a spot in the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations tournament, showcasing the continent’s finest football talent.
