Sultan Of Sokoto Urges Nigerians To Refrain From Insulting Leaders

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to avoid using insulting language when addressing their concerns to leaders. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respect in interactions with those in positions of authority.

As the President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sultan Sa’ad extended his congratulations to Muslims for successfully completing the 29 days of Ramadan fasting. He encouraged them to carry the values learned during Ramadan into their everyday lives.

The Sultan remarked, “It is important to voice concerns to our leaders, but we must avoid abusive language. If you insult your leader, how can you expect him to help you? However, if you present your issues politely, he is more likely to listen and respond appropriately.”

He also urged Nigerians to pray for the President, Governors, local government chairmen, and lawmakers, asking for divine assistance in their efforts to fulfill their duties. The Sultan further emphasized the importance of praying for peace, progress, and prosperity across the country.

He commended Islamic preachers for maintaining decorum during their Ramadan Tafsir sessions and encouraged them to continue promoting positive messages in their future teachings. Additionally, the Sultan praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his efforts in providing Ramadan palliatives to the underprivileged and for executing various developmental projects across the state.
