Sunday School: Let Love Lead: Embracing President Tinubu’s Reforms with Appreciation and Encouragement
Good morning, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, our Sunday school lesson revolves around the theme of love and its significance in our relationship with our leaders.
In particular, we will focus on President Tinubu and his reforms, emphasizing the need to let love guide us in appreciating, encouraging, and uniting for a greater Nigeria.
As we delve into this topic, let us reflect on the importance of leaving behind hatred and embracing love as the guiding force in our hearts and actions.
I. Embracing President Tinubu’s Reforms with Love:
Our headline today, “Let Love Lead: Embracing President Tinubu’s Reforms with Appreciation and Encouragement,” sets the tone for our discussion. Love is the driving force that should guide our hearts and actions towards our leaders.
As the Bible teaches us in 1 Peter 2:17, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” This verse reminds us that our love for God should be reflected in our respect and honor for those in authority.
II. Appreciating President Tinubu’s Positive Start:
We must take a moment to appreciate President Tinubu’s positive start and the reforms he has initiated. The removal of the fuel subsidy, although initially met with resistance, is an example of a bold step taken for the greater good.
This decision has opened doors for economic growth and development. In 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, the apostle Paul writes, “Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.”
Let us hold President Tinubu in high regard and appreciate his efforts in bringing about positive change.
III. Encouraging President Tinubu to Keep Going:
While appreciating President Tinubu’s achievements, we also have the responsibility to encourage him to persevere in his reforms. As believers, we are called to uplift and support our leaders.
In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Paul urges us to pray for “all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” This verse reminds us of the power of our prayers and encouragement in strengthening and guiding our leaders.
IV. Love as the Guiding Principle:
Love should serve as the guiding principle in our relationship with our leaders. We are called to love them, not just because they are our leaders, but because love fosters unity, understanding, and progress. In Mark 12:31, Jesus instructs us, “The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Our leaders are our neighbors, and by loving them, we contribute to the betterment of our nation.
As we conclude our Sunday school lesson, let us remember that love should be the foundation of our relationship with our leaders, including President Tinubu. We appreciate his positive start and the reforms he has introduced.
May we continue to encourage him to press on, guided by love and the support of the people. Let us reflect on 1 Peter 2:17 once again, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.” By embracing love and supporting our leaders, we can contribute to the realization of a prosperous and united Nigeria. May God bless our leaders and our beloved nation. Amen.
