According to reports from SCORENigeria, the Super Eagles will first face Russia in Moscow before heading to England for the tournament. These international friendlies will provide the team with valuable experience and an opportunity to refine their performance ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Additionally, in September, the Super Eagles are scheduled to play against Rwanda and South Africa in important matches for their qualification campaign.
Although the Super Eagles possess considerable talent, their performance in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers has been disappointing, securing just one win out of six matches. This has placed them in fourth position in Group C with only seven points, underscoring the urgent need for improvement as they prepare for the remaining fixtures. To have a chance of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Super Eagles must win all of their remaining four matches in the qualification series.
