According to Adeleke Kehinde, the spokesperson of the NSCDC Command, the suspect was caught in the act on April 16 at about 5:40 pm. He was subsequently arraigned before Chief Magistrate V. A. Adedokun at the Magistrate Court in Ede on April 22, where he received the sentence.

The offence committed by Adewuyi is in contravention of Section 390 of the Criminal Code Law of Osun State. He was found in possession of seven brass water taps at the time of his arrest. Investigations revealed that he had been selling the stolen items to buyers of scrap metals.

Reacting to the incident, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, urged parents and guardians to caution their children against engaging in criminal activities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the family’s reputation and assured that the NSCDC would continue to root out criminals from every part of the state.
