In a brutal attack, the terrorists targeted Bamzir, Njilang, and Shikarkir communities, setting fire to churches and homes, leaving locals terrified and displaced. The attacks have sent shockwaves through the region, intensifying the fear and chaos among the residents.

In a related incident, 40 farmers were tragically killed in Dumba, a riverine community in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area. Sources revealed that most of the victims were farmers from Gwoza, another community in Southern Borno. The terrorists not only killed the farmers but also looted crops and destroyed property, severely impacting the livelihoods of these already struggling communities.

A local resident, speaking with Vanguard, recounted the horror: “We’ve been living in fear since the start of the year. The Boko Haram terrorists have been causing severe destruction. It was only by God’s grace that I and my family managed to escape. Most of our people, including the elderly, are still trapped, with gunshots echoing around them.”

The violence in Chibok and surrounding areas has left many fearing for their lives and uncertain about what the next day will bring.
