The Time For Redemption And Repositioning Of Edo State Is Now!
It’s undisputed that the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his party has retarded the pace of growth and development in Edo over the last eight years, taking the state back to the dark era of servitude, with a snail-paced approach to governance and development. The Edo state that was rapidly catching up with growth and development, via standard infrastructural development, quality education, enhanced security, and improved local economy, making it one of the best in the region for investors, has been undone by the accidental and dysfunctional leadership of the People’s Democratic Party.
Their tyrannical rule has been oppressive to democratic ethics, governance, and developmental tendencies, suppressing and almost abrogating the legislative arm of government in the State. With all the watershed indexes of the anti-good governance system the State has experienced under the outgoing regime, the time for redemption and repositioning of Edo State is now.
Providence has positioned Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa for the task ahead, to reclaim the land and restore the lost value of good governance in the State.
The candidates pushed forward by the All Progressives Congress are well-known breeds of Edo State, who know where the shoes pinch and are ready to correct the wrongs of the immediate previous administration by redirecting the path of the state and plotting its affairs for the betterment of all. Senator Monday Okpebholo’s programs and policies, well-researched with robust inputs from Edoites, are the best social contract the people can bank upon, translating into success at the polls for quick action.
The antecedents and pedigree of Senator Monday and his deputy, as renowned lawmakers in the state, with their impacts spanning across the facets of governance, are a testament to their unblemished track record, right from the hallowed chambers to the supply of dividends of good representation, further poised them as the best rescue team the state is in dire need of now for the revitalization of good governance already in comatose in Edo state.
The time is now for all Edo sons and daughters to rise above primordialism and let the right choice for the State take the wheel of governance, as preparations for the off-cycle election in the State are fast approaching. The time is now to rally around and drum support for the true home boy who is familiar with and understands the plight and challenges confronting the state, while deploying his native intelligence, ingenuity, and administrative experiences to bring solutions for the greatest good of all.
Let’s reclaim Edo back and restore the lost value and rich culture of developmental governance that is human-oriented!
The time is now!
