As a father of five daughters, Elumelu emphasized the importance of setting an example for his children, showcasing the possibilities achievable through dedication and discipline. In his professional endeavors, Elumelu recognized the significant contributions of female leaders within Heirs Holdings, where 40% of CEOs are women, and at UBA Group, where 50% of board members are female. He underscored the importance of fostering a culture of inclusivity and providing equal opportunities for all individuals to thrive in their respective fields.
Elumelu reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for gender inclusion across various sectors of society. Through initiatives such as the Tony Elumelu Foundation, he has invested in supporting female entrepreneurs across Africa, providing them with financial assistance, technical support, and opportunities for growth. To date, the foundation has disbursed USD 40 million to female entrepreneurs, facilitating job creation and community impact.
