ireporteronlinegathered that the attackers stormed the CCC Eagle Parish on Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko, around 10:30 AM. They opened fire on the congregation, specifically targeting Prophet Adetula.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the gunmen inflicted fatal injuries on the Prophet, including a brutal axe wound to his head.

The Ogun State Police Command Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Sunday afternoon.

“Police officers responded to the scene and found Yomi Adetula, ‘M’, aged 54 years, lying lifeless in a pool of blood, his white Celestial garment stained red. Upon close inspection, the body bore bullet wounds, and his head had been mangled with an axe to ensure he was dead,” Odutola stated.

Further investigations revealed that three assailants entered the church, armed with a long double-barrel gun, and shot the Prophet at close range.

The police spokesperson confirmed that the Prophet’s body has been deposited at the General Hospital Morgue in Ilaro.

She assured the public that efforts to apprehend the suspects, who fled towards the border area, are underway.

“Normalcy has been restored, and further details will emerge as investigations progress,” Odutola added.
