Sunday Muoghalu, 75, has admitted to being responsible for his 13-year-old foster daughter’s pregnancy.

The suspect, an Agu Oye resident, told reporters on Monday that he was only playing with the girl and never intended to impregnate her.

The septuagenarian’s confession came after the suspect was apprehended by police last night with the assistance of the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo.

A video of a 13-year-old girl being impregnated by her guardian went viral on the internet, prompting the Commissioner to act quickly.

The response resulted in the victim’s safe custody and the arrest of the suspect, who was soon charged with the prosecution.

The Commissioner, through her spokesperson, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, had warned that the government would not tolerate such heinous behavior, emphasizing that the perpetrators would not go unpunished.

In recounting her ordeal, the victim admitted to being impregnated by the suspect, whom she claimed was her guardian.

The victim, an Akwa Ibom native with biological parents in Agulu, Anambra State, stated that she was not the only one involved in the suspect’s serial defilement of minors.

“Mr Sunday’s wife is known as Madam Ghana. This started when Madam Ghana travelled to the village. I’m not the only one involved. There is another girl who is seven years old, Mr Sunday used to sleep with her too.

“I once told Madam Ghana about it, and she cautioned her husband, but when it continued, I could not do much any longer,” she said.
