BREAKING: South West Labour Party Dump Peter Obi, Collapse Structure Into APC (PHOTOS)

Scores of Labour Party (LP) members in the South West tore their membership cards and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday to work for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential candidate, in the February 25 election.

This comes just hours after Bashir Bashir, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, met with Tinubu in Abuja.

The wave of defections hit Obi Barley 48 hours after he concluded his political campaign tour of the 36 states of the Federation in Lagos over the weekend.

At an event in Akure, the Ondo state capital, the LP members, led by the party’s Southwest Chairman, Banji Omotosho, collapsed all of their political structures to the ruling APC.

Dr. Dayo Adeyeye, National Chairman of the South West Agenda For Asiwaju Tinubu (SWAGA) 2023, and other members of the support group facilitated their defection into the APC.

Mr Omotosho stated at the ongoing event that leaders and members of the LP in the Southwest have decided to leave the party because it is not a viable political platform to win the 2023 election.

He specifically dismissed Mr Obi’s chances, stating that the LP presidential candidate ‘cannot win the February poll’.
