Fresh Details Emerge After Kwankwaso, Atiku’s Meeting In Abuja

Atiku visits Kwankwaso

Details have emerged regarding the meeting between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, held at Kwankwaso’s Abuja residence on Tuesday evening.

Atiku, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Kwankwaso, associated with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), both participated in the presidential election held on February 25, in which President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress emerged as the winner.

While Atiku challenged the election outcome in court, Kwankwaso developed a closer rapport with Tinubu, leading to speculation that he was seeking a political appointment from Tinubu. Despite this, Kwankwaso was not included in Tinubu’s ministerial list.

Kwankwaso took to Facebook to announce Atiku’s visit to his residence in Abuja, expressing gratitude for the fraternal visit. Ladipo Johnson, a spokesperson for the NNPP’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, shared insights into the meeting’s significance. He explained that despite their different political affiliations, Kwankwaso and Atiku share similar national values and aspirations.

The meeting, which took place in Kwankwaso’s residence, focused on various aspects of the nation’s affairs, reflecting the leaders’ concern for the country’s unity and welfare. Johnson emphasized that the leaders believe in a united Nigeria and discussed the country’s current situation, including the events in Niger and the military’s actions there.

Johnson stressed that, while politics may have concluded, discussing the well-being of the nation remains a priority. Both Atiku and Kwankwaso are dedicated to advocating for a better Nigeria and have worked towards this goal in their individual capacities. The meeting highlighted their mutual commitment to addressing the country’s challenges and promoting its progress.
