Manhunt Launched As Fleeing ‘Drug Dealer’ Evades Arrest, Crushes NDLEA Operative In Lagos
A well-known drug dealer residing in the Lekki area of Lagos State is currently evading authorities after reportedly hitting an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with his luxury car, according to the agency.
The NDLEA has initiated a search for the fugitive suspect, whose residence was being searched over the weekend, as stated by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in a release on Wednesday.
“On Friday, August 18th, anti-narcotics officers of the agency carried out a search at the residence of the wanted drug dealer located at 2/3 Adetola Ayeni close, Lekki, Lagos based on credible intelligence of his involvement in illicit drug activities at his premises,” the statement outlined.

“Although he was absent when the operatives arrived at his compound, he returned while the search was in progress.”
Babafemi detailed that upon spotting NDLEA officers, the suspect swiftly reversed his car, striking and injuring one of the officers. The collision tore down his gate before he crashed the vehicle into the fence of a neighboring compound.
The impact of the car’s speed reportedly resulted in the collapse of the neighbor’s concrete wall. Subsequently, the suspect exited his vehicle and fled the scene to avoid capture.
“While a comprehensive search of his residence was conducted, 10.5 kilograms of a substance known as ‘Loud’ were discovered. The injured officer experienced multiple injuries across his body and suffered compound fractures in both legs. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital,” Babafemi explained.
Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, has directed the deployment of appropriate operational resources to locate and apprehend the fugitive suspect. He has also ensured proper medical care for the injured officer to facilitate a swift recovery.
