Moment Police Teargas, Disperse Sympathisers At Mohbad’s Candlelight Procession (VIDEO)

Tension gripped the vicinity of Lekki in Lagos on Thursday night as police officers deployed canisters against sympathizers who gathered there to demand justice and pay their respects to the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The candlelight procession, organized to commemorate Mohbad’s tragic passing, drew a significant turnout of fans, friends, and fellow musicians. However, the situation escalated into chaos when the police attempted to disperse the crowd.

Reports indicate that a considerable number of individuals sustained injuries during the altercation with law enforcement.

Mohbad’s demise last Tuesday raised concerns, with some pointing an accusing finger at Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Record Label.

Furthermore, there have been claims and counter-claims from distant relatives regarding his estate in the immediate aftermath of his passing.

Both the Nigerian police and the Lagos Police Command have pledged to investigate his death. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also requested the Department of State Service (DSS) to participate in the inquiry.
