BREAKING: President Tinubu Appoints Special Assistant On ICT (PHOTO)

Salisu Nakande, the son of Associate Professor Salihu Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, has been appointed as the Special Assistant (SA) on ICT Policy to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Nakande, the second son of the former Minister of State for Information and Communications, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, who once represented Plateau State at the Federal Executive Council, has demonstrated remarkable achievements from his early educational years. He earned a First Class in Computer Science, followed by a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Brunel University in the United Kingdom (UK). Remarkably, he attained his Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) at the age of 25.

In addition to his academic feats, Salisu, a computer scientist, has taken on the role of an educator, serving as a lecturer at the Base University, Abuja, and later ABTI American University, Yola. He furthered his teaching career at the University of Sheffield and subsequently Manchester University, where he lectured before assuming his current position as Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria.

Dr. Nakande is celebrated for his exceptional academic records, profound knowledge of information technology, and his strong patriotic spirit. He has demonstrated this by frequently returning from his base in the UK to actively contribute to Nigeria’s development.

Given President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s emphasis on propelling the country’s advancement through technology-driven innovations, Dr. Nakande is a fitting choice for the role.
