The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party unanimously approved Toyese’s appointment, which was ratified by the Working Committee on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC).

The decision to appoint Toyese comes in the wake of the untimely death of the former Vice Chairman for the zone, Mr. Soji Adagunodo, on May 20, 2023.

The appointment was confirmed at a recent meeting of the South West Zonal caucus, aligning with the party’s constitution. Described as a loyal party member, Toyese, a lawyer and engineer, played a crucial role in the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council as the Deputy Director General.

The PDP expressed pride in Toyese’s dedication and urged him to leverage his new position to unite, galvanize, and energize the party in the South West while working collaboratively with other leaders for continued success.
