Triumphant Operation: Troops Obliterate Bandits’ Hideouts, Rescue Emir’s Son And Others In Taraba

The operation resulted in the successful rescue of four kidnapped victims, including the son of the Emir of Pupulle.
Lieutenant Oni Olubodunde, the Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, revealed this positive development in a statement issued on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The rescued victims, who had fallen prey to bandits, were saved during a swift and decisive operation aimed at restoring peace to Yorro LGA and its surrounding areas.
The statement elaborated, “Troops came in contact with bandits at Gampu hills and Ban Yorro area and exerted superior firepower which made the bandits flee the location leaving behind their abducted victims. The operation is still ongoing to ensure that other kidnapped victims who fled the area during the exchange of fire are found and reunited with their loved ones.”
Among the rescued individuals were Genesis M Samuel (24) from Ganku village, Benard Denis (28) from Fulfualgon village, Esther Titus (35) from Kosanai village, and Isma’il Umar (25), the son of the Emir of Pupulle, who was abducted from his residence on January 18, 2024.
The 6 Brigade emphasized its commitment to safeguarding citizens and eradicating criminal infrastructure in Taraba State. The public was urged to continue supporting the military by providing credible and timely information about suspicious movements, contributing to the ongoing efforts to enhance security in the state.
