APC Never Promised Nigerians Miracles — Akpabio
According to Ireporter Online, Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) administration never assured Nigerians of quick fixes or “miracles,” but rather committed to a structured and deliberate reform process aimed at long-term national development.
Akpabio made the remarks on Friday during the commissioning of a seven-kilometre road and bridge project in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He explained that the Tinubu-led administration is focused on delivering what he described as “structural, calculated and deliberate progress” under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is designed to improve the daily lives of Nigerians beyond economic indicators.
His comments come amid growing public concern over the rising cost of living, driven largely by the removal of fuel subsidy and other ongoing policy reforms. However, the Senate President maintained that the government remains committed to its long-term governance strategy despite current economic pressures.
In a related remark at the event, Akpabio praised the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, describing him as a “miracle worker” for the pace of infrastructure development in the capital city. He noted that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has brought visible changes through sustained project commissioning and infrastructure delivery.
Akpabio further commended the quality of construction work on the project, expressing confidence that the newly completed road could last for decades without significant deterioration. He also lauded the administration’s commitment to continuous project execution across the FCT, describing the scale of ongoing commissioning activities as unprecedented.
