Police React: Woman Alleged Commits Suicide In Ogun

In a tragic incident, a 49-year-old woman identified as Idowu Victoria has been found dead by suicide in Ogun State. The incident was reported to the Ibafo Divisional Police Officer on Sunday by the deceased’s son, Idowu Qudus, who resides in Gan-un town of Magboro. Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, stating that officers were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the report. No suicide note was found at the scene, and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Reacting to the incident, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, urged families to seek professional assistance for their relatives or loved ones who may require emotional support. Suicide is illegal, and Odutola emphasized the importance of providing additional support to individuals with mental health issues to prevent such tragic outcomes.

In a separate incident, unknown gunmen allegedly murdered a law professor at Babcock University in Ilishan, Ogun State, and abducted two others in the Iperu area. The deceased professor, identified as Professor Yinka Olomojobi, was reportedly shot dead on Friday after resisting being taken away by the gunmen. Police have arrested a security guard, Awada Ishaya, for questioning in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
