Prince Chukwuemeka Asudeogu, CEO of Vegas Homes and one of the event organizers, praised SP Sini’s exemplary conduct, emphasizing that it serves as an inspiration and a testament to the integrity present within the Nigerian Police Force.

“SP Sini’s actions have not only brought honor to himself and the Nigeria Police Force but have also inspired countless others to stand firm against corruption and uphold the highest ethical standards,” Asudeogu stated. “His integrity serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that even in challenging circumstances, it is possible to remain true to one’s values.”

The event was organized to appreciate SP Sini’s laudable conduct and to demonstrate society’s recognition of individuals with integrity and good conduct. Asudeogu highlighted that the Nigerian Police Force has professional officers who, given the right incentives, can engage in meaningful policing and serve as worthy examples.

“This honor is just the beginning of what we have in store for his commendable conduct. To reject N150 million takes discipline, the fear of God, and professionalism. All these are attributes Officer Sini has demonstrated,” Asudeogu added. “I enjoin my fellow Nigerians to support the efforts of the police so they can better police our country.”

Akindele, who is currently remanded in Kuje prison by a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Duport Midstream Company. He was alleged to have offered the police a bribe of N150 million to derail an investigation against him. The businessman reportedly handed over N50 million as part of the bribe to the IGP’s team of investigators led by Sini, seeking to escape abroad and receive a favorable report after the investigation.

In response to his refusal of the bribe, SP Sini said he valued peace of mind, adherence to the mandate and core values of the Nigerian Police Force, and maintaining the integrity of his family name.

FCT Police Commissioner Benneth Igweh, who presented an award of a plot of land to Sini on behalf of the organizers, commended the superintendent’s conduct, stating that it has brought pride to the Nigerian Police Force.

Akindele was arrested following a petition submitted to the Police Chief by Summit Oil International Limited, alleging that he swindled the firm out of $5,636,397 and another N73,543,764.
