UAE And Nigeria Agree To Resume Visa-Issuance For Nigerian Passport-Holders
Following successful talks and negotiations between the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, an agreement has been reached allowing for the resumption of travel to the UAE for Nigerian passport holders.
This agreement includes updated controls and conditions to facilitate obtaining a UAE visa according to a statement by Nigeria’s minister of information, Mohammed Idris.
He stated that the resumption of visas will be effective from July 15, 2024.
He called on Nigerians wishing to learn more about the updated visa conditions from the UAE to visit: documentverificationhub.ae for additional information.
Idris expressed optimism about the positive impact of this development on bilateral relations between the two countries.
“The resumption of UAE visas for Nigerian passport holders is a significant milestone in our diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates.
“This agreement will undoubtedly enhance travel and economic opportunities for our citizens and strengthen the ties between our nations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the federal government has explained that Nigeria signed the Samoa Agreement with the European Union to bolster food security and promote inclusive economic development.
According to the government, the agreement has facilitated the commitment of approximately €1.7 billion in grants to Nigeria through the 9th, 10th, and 11th European Development Funds.
In a media briefing, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu Abubakar, stated that none of the articles of the Samoa Agreement indicated that Nigeria had recognized Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Queer rights.
