President Tinubu Condoles with Vietnam Over the Passing of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng

Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam following the passing of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng.

Nguyễn Phú Trọng, who served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and head of the Politburo and Central Military Commission, was a pivotal figure in Vietnamese politics. He also held the position of President from 2018 to 2021, leaving a significant legacy in shaping the nation’s direction.

President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the widow of the late Vietnamese leader, Madam Ngô Thị Mận, acknowledging the deep personal and national loss she and the Vietnamese people are enduring.

In his message, President Tinubu highlighted General Secretary Trọng’s influential role and assured Vietnam of Nigeria’s solidarity during this period of mourning.
