Shaibu Accuses Obaseki Of Flouting Court Orders Over Impersonation Allegations

Philip Shaibu, recently reinstated as Deputy Governor of Edo State, has strongly criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration for accusing him of impersonation and forgery. The state government claims Shaibu’s reinstatement is invalid due to an appealed court judgment and a stay of execution.

Shaibu’s Chief Press Secretary, Musa Ebomhiana, condemned these accusations as a violation of judicial orders and an insult to Edo State’s electorate. He argued that the replacement, Marvellous Omobayo, is not the legitimate deputy governor and is merely a political appointee of Obaseki.

The statement further accused Obaseki of defying judicial rulings and displaying executive lawlessness, asserting that Obaseki’s behavior undermines the rule of law. The situation highlights ongoing tensions and legal disputes surrounding the leadership of Edo State.
