PDP Challenges Oshiomhole’s Record, Calls His Administration The Worst In Edo State
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a severe criticism of former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, branding his administration as the most corrupt, chaotic, and dishonest in the state’s history. The PDP’s Deputy Director-General of Media and Publicity, Olu Martins, made these claims during a news conference in Benin City, highlighting what he described as the failures of Oshiomhole’s tenure compared to the current administration under Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Martins accused Oshiomhole of misleading the public by criticizing Obaseki’s administration while failing to account for his own administration’s shortcomings. He challenged Oshiomhole to provide evidence of any achievements during his tenure that surpassed those of Obaseki’s government.
Martins emphasized that from 2008 to 2016, when Oshiomhole was governor, the state experienced significant governance issues. He cited observations from a former commissioner in Oshiomhole’s administration, Orobosa Omo-Ojo, who described Oshiomhole’s governance as characterized by corruption and incompetence.
As the September 21 governorship election approaches, the PDP has intensified its campaign, underscoring what it perceives as Oshiomhole’s failures and contrasting them with the current administration’s efforts.
