Chief Francis Inegbeniki has sharply criticized Adams Oshiomhole, accusing him of orchestrating political strategies in Edo State with the intention of bolstering the APC’s governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo. Inegbeniki claims Oshiomhole’s heavy involvement in promoting Okpebholo makes it appear as though Oshiomhole himself is running for office.

In a candid interview with The Sun, Inegbeniki labeled Oshiomhole an “expired politician” whose credibility has diminished due to his inconsistent actions. He recalled Oshiomhole’s controversial support for Pastor Ize Iyamu in the 2020 governorship election, despite having previously discredited him. Inegbeniki argues that Edo voters, known for their discernment, are unlikely to be swayed by Oshiomhole’s shifting political stances.

“Oshiomhole is the brain behind all the plots,” Inegbeniki asserted. “You can see him constantly promoting their candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and it makes one wonder if he’s the one actually contesting. Oshiomhole should step back and let Sen. Monday address the people of Edo directly about his plans and governance strategies.”

He further criticized Oshiomhole’s credibility, stating, “Oshiomhole talks too much. He’s the one who will de-market a candidate and then try to re-market the same person. We haven’t forgotten how he brought Pastor Ize Iyamu as the APC candidate in 2020, only to have Edo people vote against him. Edo voters are sophisticated and will not tolerate Oshiomhole’s political games.”

Inegbeniki’s remarks underscore the growing discontent with Oshiomhole’s political influence in Edo State, as the upcoming governorship election approaches.
