Horrific Acid Attack! Two Teens Hospitalized Outside London School – What Really Happened

Two teenagers are currently hospitalized after a suspected acid attack occurred outside a west London school, with one of the victims sustaining injuries that could be life-altering.

The incident took place on Monday afternoon near Westminster Academy, where a corrosive substance was reportedly thrown at several students and a staff member. According to police, a 14-year-old girl has been admitted to the hospital with injuries that “may potentially be life-changing,” while a 16-year-old boy also injured in the attack is receiving treatment, though his injuries are not deemed life-threatening. A third victim, a 27-year-old woman, has since been discharged from the hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

London police have stated that tests on the substance are ongoing and that they believe it to be acidic at this stage. Authorities are actively conducting “urgent inquiries” to locate and apprehend those responsible for the attack. Numera Anwar, principal of Westminster Academy, expressed her concern for the victims and the community, labeling the incident as “distressing” and involving what appeared to be a “corrosive acid-like substance.” She confirmed that the attack occurred just as students and staff were leaving for the day. The school was closed on Tuesday to facilitate a thorough investigation and to ensure a safe environment for students when they return.

This incident is part of a concerning trend in the UK, where attacks involving corrosive substances have increased in recent years, particularly seeing a resurgence in 2022. London has been grappling with a rise in youth violence, including knife crime and shootings. Notably, in July, a 15-year-old boy was found fatally shot in a park near where Monday’s incident took place. Westminster City Council leader Adam Hug described the attack as “truly shocking” and pledged to collaborate with police to support the affected school and community. Additionally, two police officers who responded to the scene were hospitalized as a precaution after feeling unwell, though their conditions are not serious. Multiple crime scenes have been established as part of the investigation.
