Beauty Scam Exposed! NAFDAC Confiscates N37m In Counterfeit Cosmetics – Are You At Risk
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) carried out a series of coordinated raids on Tuesday across various supermarkets and open markets, including Wuse and Garki markets in Abuja.
In a post shared on its official X account, the agency reported that numerous unregistered and counterfeit cosmetics were confiscated during the operation, with a total estimated street value of N37 million.
This initiative is part of NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to eliminate counterfeit and illegally imported cosmetic products from the capital’s market. The agency affirmed its commitment to investigating the sources of these illicit products and vowed to enforce strict regulatory actions against those responsible. Furthermore, it stated that all seized items would be destroyed in accordance with its laws and regulations to ensure public safety.
