The Director-General of the OK Movement, Peter Ameh, has resigned from his position with immediate effect, citing the need to concentrate on his political ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Ireporter Online, Ameh announced his resignation in Abuja on Tuesday amid reported disagreements within the political movement, which is associated with the Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

In his resignation letter, Ameh explained that his decision would enable him to devote more time and energy to his campaign for the Kogi East Senatorial District, where he is contesting under the platform of the NDC.

He expressed appreciation to NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi for his leadership, integrity and credibility, describing those qualities as key factors behind the formation and development of the OK Movement.

Ameh, however, stressed that his resignation from the position would not affect his commitment to Obi or the political ideals of the movement.

He also said he was prepared to support whoever Obi chooses to succeed him as Director-General.

The former DG wished the OK Movement continued success while reaffirming his commitment to the principles that brought its members together.

Ameh’s resignation comes as political activities and alignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
