Nollywood Rallies Around Ailing Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’

Nollywood has rallied around veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following concerns over his reported health condition and urgent need for medical attention.

According to Ireporter Online, the actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, recently appealed for help, revealing that their father is battling stage-four cancer and needs immediate medical intervention.

The emotional appeal has sparked reactions across the Nigerian entertainment industry, with several colleagues and prominent figures calling for medical experts and facilities capable of reviewing Ogogo’s medical records and exploring possible treatment options.

Filmmaker and actor Femi Adebayo urged members of the public to support the family by connecting them with qualified medical professionals, hospitals and oncology specialists who could offer further assistance.

Adebayo stressed that the family was not seeking financial donations but was instead looking for medical expertise and possible treatment options for the veteran actor.

He appealed to anyone with connections to reputable cancer specialists or advanced treatment centres, either in Nigeria or abroad, to reach out to the family without delay.

Actress Toyin Abraham also joined the campaign for assistance after sharing the video released by Ogogo’s daughters on social media. She urged anyone capable of helping the actor to contact his daughters or reach out to her directly.

Ogogo, 66, is one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language cinema and has enjoyed a career spanning more than four decades. He has appeared in hundreds of films and remains widely recognised for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
