Labour Party Cuts Ties With Ex-Treasurer Oparah Amid Fraud Allegations

According to Ireporter reports, the LP released a statement on Thursday through its publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh, clarifying that Oparah’s indefinite suspension from the party for alleged anti-party activities, initially enacted in November 2023, remains in force.

The party urged Oparah to cease presenting herself as the National Women Leader, a role she never held or sought. Instead, they accused her of fraudulently impersonating the National Women Leader at various events to extort organizations.

The statement read, “A person who falsely assumes an identity to deceive others, especially for fraudulent purposes, is an impostor. Ms. Oluchi has been misrepresenting herself as the National Women Leader of the Labour Party to seek financial gain from unsuspecting organizations, which has caused significant embarrassment to the party.”

The LP clarified that Mrs. Dudu Manuga is the officially recognized National Women Leader, entrusted with leading Labour Party women within Nigeria and globally.
