“We have revamped our strategies and are introducing additional platforms and resources to better support our troops in the field. This will ensure they have the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively. That’s the purpose of my visit, and I believe we have achieved that objective. We will return to Abuja to explore further enhancements to their resources, which I am confident will yield better outcomes,” he stated.

The COAS pointed out that the army has achieved significant results in operations nationwide, with a noticeable maintenance of peace in various regions. However, he acknowledged ongoing challenges in Zamfara and other areas of the northwest.

“Concerning Zamfara and the broader northwest, we are reassessing operations in the region. We intend to deploy advanced technology and strengthen our strategies to improve the situation. I will also be visiting the northwest next week to oversee these initiatives,” Oluyede revealed.

He emphasized the army’s proactive approach to addressing specific security threats, citing recent measures taken in Sokoto State as an example.
