“I can confidently state that Enugu is among the luckiest states in Nigeria, and I do not say this lightly. You have held the governor’s office for a little over a year, yet you have truly set yourself apart,” she remarked.

“People across Nigeria are aware of the governor of Enugu State. The innovative work you’ve done with smart schools will be noted in Nigeria’s history. It is truly commendable, and you have set a standard for other governors to emulate,” she added.

After her tour and successfully lighting up several recreational facilities, the Minister stated, “It is a great honor to light the Christmas Village and Unity Park. I feel like a daughter returning home. I look forward to returning next year to explore how my Ministry can collaborate with the tourism, culture, and creative industries to unlock potential and work alongside the governor to truly benefit the people of Enugu State.”

“I want to emphasize that Enugu is a very blessed state. With a visionary and innovative leader like Peter Mbah, who has distinguished himself in such a short time, the possibilities for Enugu in four to eight years are boundless,” she concluded.

In response, Governor Mbah expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for its ongoing support and reiterated his belief that Nigeria’s economy thrives better when driven by individual states instead of the central government, with each state harnessing its unique potential.

“Here in Enugu State, we are dedicated to fully tapping into the tourism and creative sectors, as we have a rich history in that regard—it used to be the heart of Nollywood,” Mbah stated.

“Enugu has served as the administrative headquarters for various regions. We are proud of our scenic hills, waterfalls, caves, and other attractions. Our vision is to create a unique tourism experience around these natural wonders.”

He also shared ambitious plans for the tourism sector, aiming to attract at least three million visitors to Enugu annually.

He also announced plans to establish a world-class theme park at Milliken Hill, aspiring for it to be recognized as a heritage site.

During the event, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Calistus Onaga, blessed the Christmas Village at the Naira Triangle, commending Mbah’s innovative approaches and development initiatives while praying for continued prosperity for the state.
