This transformative initiative, developed in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), marks a significant milestone in propelling Nigeria’s creative sector to new heights.

At a high-profile meeting with AfDB Director General, Mr. Lamin Barrow, Minister Musawa emphasized the immense potential of the Creative Economy to generate substantial employment opportunities for Nigeria’s youth. The IDICE fund stands out as a landmark transaction, offering a strategic platform for channeling long-term financing into this dynamic sector.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Minister Musawa stated, “With eager anticipation from the creative community, the IDICE fund emerges as a landmark transaction, providing a strategic platform for directing additional long-term financing into this dynamic sector.”

As the conditions precedent for the release of IDICE funds near completion, Minister Musawa praised the impact investment focus, emphasizing elements such as geographical spread, first loss position of the FGN, and grants for capacity development. She anticipates providing start-up funds to young creatives, facilitating talent development, and monetization.

Mr. Barrow provided insights into the fund structure, highlighting its world-class governance framework and the collaboration’s commitment to strategic partnerships with universities, polytechnics, technology companies, and key players in the private sector. The IDICE structure offers a platform to secure fundraising initiatives, positioning Nigeria as a global hub for music, film, visual art, and expanding into subsectors such as Design, Gaming, Content Creation, Animation, Culinary Arts, and Publishing.
