In a recent interview on Iyabo Ojo TV’s YouTube channel, Rhodes-Vivour accused the governor of misappropriating public funds. He pointed to several controversial spending decisions, including the payment of personal legal bills, a near ₦200 million allocation for unspecified projects, and an extravagant ₦2 billion budget for buying fans and hiring consultants for bus network development.

He said, “Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration has been using taxpayers’ money for personal expenses like legal fees, and there’s nearly ₦200 million spent on unclear projects. On top of that, ₦2 billion is allocated for buying fans and hiring consultants for bus routes. With the suffering that Lagosians are going through, this kind of spending shows a lack of accountability and transparency. We need government funds to be spent more wisely.”

Rhodes-Vivour, who has hinted at a possible return to the Lagos Governorship race, also shared his plans to strengthen his political movement. He emphasized that unlike past elections where opposition parties went silent post-election, his team remains actively engaged with Lagosians.

He said, “We’ve learned from our past campaign mistakes and are working to improve. The biggest mistake in Lagos politics is when the opposition goes silent after elections. This time, we are staying active. We’re holding health outreach programs across the state, offering free treatments worth up to ₦6,000, and engaging in community efforts to improve lives.”

Rhodes-Vivour’s comments come at a time when public dissatisfaction with the state government’s handling of resources is growing, and his actions suggest that he is preparing for a more intense political battle in future elections.
