JAMB Hits Big Milestone: ₦22.9 Billion Raised In 2024, ₦6 Billion To Federal Government

(UTME). Under the leadership of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB has contributed over ₦50 billion to the national treasury in the last seven years.

In a statement released on Monday, JAMB revealed that it spent ₦18.2 billion on conducting exams, paying service providers, and covering necessary expenses, including staff claims of ₦2.1 billion.

The board emphasized that 2024 marked a significant year, benefiting from its reforms and innovations. It also reiterated its commitment to transparency, noting that it has published weekly income and expenditure reports since 2017.

Prof. Oloyede’s leadership has focused on financial responsibility, starting with a ₦7 billion remittance to the federal government in its first year. Additionally, JAMB reduced the cost of application documents by ₦1,500 per candidate, benefiting many students.

For 2024, JAMB remitted ₦6 billion to the government. When accounting for the total reduction in application costs, the overall contribution to the government amounted to ₦9 billion.

Looking ahead to 2025, JAMB remains committed to maintaining transparency and equity in the admissions process.
