Fallen Heroes: Nigeria Mourns Soldiers Killed In Borno Assault

In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu honored the fallen soldiers as “brave heroes” whose sacrifice in defending Nigeria’s sovereignty will be eternally remembered.

“Our prayers are with the families of these gallant soldiers. Their dedication to safeguarding our nation’s territorial integrity will forever be honored,” the President said.

Commending the military’s swift response, Tinubu lauded the targeted airstrikes that neutralized numerous fleeing terrorists and destroyed their equipment. He highlighted the military’s readiness to tackle security challenges and reaffirmed Nigeria’s resolve to eradicate terrorism and banditry.

“This decisive action demonstrates the military’s capability and commitment to confronting threats to our nation’s security,” Tinubu noted.

The President has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the attack to uncover its causes and prevent future occurrences. He also urged the military to intensify efforts to eliminate terrorist and bandit threats, particularly in the Northwest, where innocent lives remain at risk.

“The fight against terrorism must remain proactive. I urge the military to take the battle directly to the hideouts of these criminals. We must restore peace and security across the nation,” he emphasized.

Tinubu called on Nigerians and the media to support the military’s efforts and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the armed forces with all necessary resources.

“On behalf of a grateful nation, I express deep appreciation to our military and security forces. Your sacrifices are deeply valued, and we stand firmly behind you in this fight,” he concluded.

The attack in Damboa highlights ongoing security challenges, but the government has assured citizens of its determination to achieve lasting peace.
