Moses Simon has been a standout performer this season, consistently showcasing his skills and significantly contributing to Nantes’ success. Under the management of head coach Antoine Kombouaré, the 29-year-old Nigerian forward has scored seven goals and provided eight assists, underlining his versatility and playmaking abilities.

The nomination places Simon among elite company, as he follows in the footsteps of fellow Nigerian footballers Vincent Enyeama and Victor Osimhen, who previously won the award. Enyeama became the first Nigerian to receive the honor during the 2013-2014 season, while Osimhen claimed it in the 2019-2020 season while representing Lille, further cementing Nigeria’s influence in African football.
