Edo Boils: PDP Drags APC Chairman To Court, Demands ₦900 Million For ‘Violent Takeover’

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a lawsuit against the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Jarret Tenebe, over what it alleges was a forceful and unlawful takeover of its secretariat located at No. 49, Airport Road, Benin City……….READ MORE 

In the legal action, the PDP is seeking a perpetual injunction to stop Tenebe and his associates from further trespassing or carrying out any activities on the disputed property. The party is also demanding over ₦900 million in damages for the incident.

According to court documents, the PDP is claiming ₦500 million in general damages for the alleged illegal eviction, ₦322.7 million for looted or damaged office equipment (including laptops, computers, and generators), and ₦90 million for the cost of using an emergency office space at Etano Hotel, G.R.A, Benin City.

The PDP also wants the court to:

Declare the eviction a violation of its legal rights;

Order the return of the secretariat to the PDP;

Grant a perpetual injunction preventing further interference by Tenebe and his agents.
