“No Crisis Here! Makinde, Wike In Perfect Harmony – PDP Bigwig Declares”

A founding chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Earl Osaro Onaiwu, has dismissed as baseless and mischievous the circulating claims of a rift between Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over issues relating to the forthcoming PDP National Convention.

According to IReporter Online, Onaiwu, who served as the pioneer Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, said these reports were nothing more than the work of political saboteurs bent on disrupting the unity and momentum of the party ahead of the convention. “There is no conflict between Governor Makinde and former Governor Wike.

Both leaders remain loyal party men committed to the ideals and objectives of the PDP,” he stated.

He pointed out that the recent strategic meeting of the party showcased a renewed sense of unity and direction, which has unsettled detractors.

According to IReporter Online, Onaiwu emphasized that the PDP remains the only truly national party with a robust internal democracy, open dialogue mechanisms, and a cohesive leadership structure.

He explained that preparations for the national convention were progressing smoothly, with all major decisions—such as the venue and organizational framework—reached through broad consensus involving the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Committee (NEC), and other stakeholders, under the observance of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to IReporter Online, Onaiwu urged Nigerians and media outlets to disregard any reports of internal crisis within the PDP. He assured that the party remains focused on reclaiming national leadership in 2027, undistracted by external propaganda.

“Our ranks are strong, our focus is sharp, and our commitment to delivering credible leadership to Nigerians remains unwavering,” he concluded.
