Kwara Rallies Behind Tinubu as Governor Lauds ‘Game-Changing’ Road Project

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and declared the state’s full support for his re-election bid. The governor made this known during an inspection of the 49-kilometre Eiyenkorin–Afon–Ojoku–Offa–Odo-Otin concrete road project, describing it as a tangible product of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Speaking to journalists during the site visit on Saturday, AbdulRazaq commended the pace and quality of the ongoing construction, attributing the development to increased federal investment under the tax credit scheme. He praised the Federal Government and BUA Group, the construction firm handling the project, for maintaining high standards despite the rainy season.

According to a statement released on August 3, the governor emphasized that the infrastructure drive initiated by the Tinubu administration is beginning to yield concrete results across the country. “This is a major achievement. Travel time between Ilorin and Offa will now reduce to just 30 minutes when the road is completed,” he noted.

He added that the Tinubu administration’s economic policies are translating into more funding for critical infrastructure and visible progress in both federal and state-level projects. “It shows that the policies are working. There is more money for infrastructure, and people can see that—even within the state,” he said.

The governor, who was accompanied by senior officials including his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Jiddah, and SUBEB Chairman, Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja, also received technical briefings from project engineer Abdulsalam Onaolapo, who confirmed the project is on schedule.

AbdulRazaq applauded BUA Group for their performance on this and other projects, including the Bode Sadu–Kaiama–Kosubosu road. “Even in the rainy season, the quality of work is outstanding. I say well done to BUA,” he remarked.

Beyond infrastructure, the governor visited Okesho in Asa Local Government Area to inspect renovation works at a Primary Healthcare Centre, underlining his administration’s commitment to grassroots development. He also paid condolence visits to families of prominent Kwara indigenes who passed away recently, including Daudu Ballah, Alhaji Abdulkadir Kawu Yahya, and former state Accountant General, Alhaji Suleiman Bayero.

Affirming political support for Tinubu’s continuity, AbdulRazaq said, “Who will say ‘no’ to President Tinubu after seeing all these investments? The people of Kwara State are fully behind the President to secure a second term post-2027, so his developmental agenda can run its full course.”

He concluded by highlighting the ongoing benefits of the administration’s reforms, citing improved infrastructure, expanded social protection, and enhanced national security as proof that Tinubu’s leadership is delivering on its promises.
