The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has appointed Big Brother Naija star and actress Tega Dominic as its special adviser on sexual harassment, the guild announced on Thursday, January 29, 2026. According to reports, the appointment was shared via the AGN’s official Instagram account.

Tega, who rose to prominence after her participation in the 2021 ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition of BBNaija, expressed her commitment to the new role. She outlined her priorities as fostering education and awareness, enforcing accountability, maintaining zero tolerance for sexual harassment, protecting and supporting survivors, and ensuring safe and confidential reporting systems. She added that her focus would be on cultivating a culture of respect within the guild.

In a related development, the AGN has lifted the suspension of Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar, ending a disciplinary action that lasted over a year. The indefinite suspension, originally imposed in October 2024 due to allegations of defamation against fellow actors and prominent Nigerians, had barred Abubakar from participating in any guild-related activities and film productions following a two-year investigation by a disciplinary panel.

The announcement of both Tega’s appointment and the lifting of Abubakar’s suspension was made during the inauguration of the guild’s new National Executive Council (NEC) at the AGN national secretariat in Abuja, according to the outgoing National President, Emeka Rollas.
